There is zero scientific evidence proving the efficacy of activated charcoal in relation to alcohol. There are plenty of theories as to how it can help, but no real research to support the claims.
Rather than trusting a product with no scientific backing, the ingredients in Cheers Restore (most importantly, DHM) are scientifically proven to reduce the effects of a hangover. A study published in the Journal of Neuroscience in 2012 titled “Dihydromyricetin as a Novel Anti-Intoxication Medication” was notable in that it was the first to test DHM in relation to alcohol. This also happened to be the same study that motivated our founder to start Cheers! Read our blog article on the study’s findings here!
Additionally, the USC School of Pharmacy recently published a study that explains how DHM works as a hangover treatment, and more specifically how it impacts the liver. Last but not least, we can’t forget about our human study! In a study conducted for our granted patent, users of Cheers reported feeling 50%+ better the next day across 8 typical symptoms.
