To metabolize alcohol, your body must first convert alcohol into acetaldehyde (which is 20x more toxic than alcohol) before being able to finally clear it from your system. Cheers Restore reduces the amount and time youāre exposed to acetaldehyde following alcohol consumption.
DHM, one of our main ingredients, binds to the same brain receptor alcohol binds to (i.e.: the GABAa). Long story short, a major cause (if not the biggest cause) of why a person feels so poorly is GABAa rebound. Because alcohol is a depressant, when alcohol leaves the system, the opposite effect is excitation--but not a nice kind, rather anxiety, shakiness, and a more squirrel-like inability to focus on any one thing. By binding to the GABAa receptor, DHM reduces GABAa rebound and thereby reduces the next-day effect of "hangxiety" and feeling unsettled.
Flushing is caused by acetaldehyde not being cleared from the bloodstream due to genetic reasons that affect ALDH enzymes. Some of our ingredients, such as DHM, have been shown in scientific literature to speed up the rate at which acetaldehyde gets cleared from the bloodstream.
